Jin & Matt | Riverside Church Wedding | NYC Wedding Photographer

Riverside ChurchYou may remember Jin and Matt from their gorgeous engagement session at South Street Seaport earlier this year. These two are so warm and friendly, and are so completely in love it made my job a piece of cake! They were married early in September in a small ceremony at the Riverside Church way up on Manhattan’s west side. I’d never been inside this place before, but the Riverside is simply stunning. Take a peek if you’re ever up on 120th.

Bride Getting ReadyI met up with Jin while she was getting ready, and then we headed out into Riverside Park for some photo taking. I love this area for photos, the trees with the stately columns are so photogenic. Oh yes, and this super elegant couple made things pretty great too!

Emma & Franklin | New York City Wedding Photographer | Housing Works Bookstore

Emma and Franklin. You guys, this wedding was amazing. Mostly because of these two kids. Emma and Franklin are the most adorable, fun loving, awesome couple ever. You can’t work with these guys and not have a blast. :-)

We started the day on the roof of the 60 Thompson Hotel. Not too shabby of a view, huh?

I told you they were adorable!

Oh hi, NYC skyline, you do make a lovely backdrop.

SO much cute. You guys are fun overload!

While scouting out the area, I found this building with a yellow door, I figured we had to stop by to go along with the bright color scheme!

We wandered our way from 60 Thompson down to Housing Works. Soho is a fantastic neighborhood for photo taking!

And this is why I love them. Goofiness. The world needs as many reminders as possible, wedding photos = FUN!

And then we met up with the wedding party at Housing Works. How’s this for some beautiful people? Check out those shoes!

The color theme was NEON. I love everything about this.

Some fun pre-wedding reading for these two animal lovers. :-)

And then time to get married! Housing Works is such a wonderful venue for a wedding.

Then we DANCED!

What’s up, dance party?

Most delicious looking cake ever? The answer is yes. Even if you’re not quite sure how to cut it. ;-)

Emma and Franklin, I’m making you promise we can be friends in real life. You guys are amazing awesome and I wish you many years of happiness and laughter together. For like, EVER. :-) Thanks times a million for having me!

Lauren & Harry | Pennsylvania Wedding Photographer | Pearl S. Buck House

I first met Lauren and Harry way back last spring for their engagement session at Riverside Park. I had a great time with them both and was thrilled when they asked me to be a part of their wedding in Pennsylvania at the Pearl S. Buck House! This was a gorgeous venue, even more so in the spring with all the beautiful blooms!

These guys were so much fun and I had a fantastic time! A special shout out to my second shooter, Sean, who did an amazing job!

One of their friends made their Ketubah. There were so many beautiful details, including sillouettes of their dogs in each of the bottom corners.

I love this moment.

While Harry may look all calm, cool and collected, there is some secret super hero sauce waiting to bust out. :-)

I told you this group had some fun up their sleeve. :-)

After some fun portraits with the groom’s party, we set up a first look. I always love when couples opt for this as it’s such a great moment.

Then we had some time around the grounds for portaits, and these two made my job easy! Seriously, aren’t they gorgeous?

Don’t worry, Harry’s goofiness still came through.

Spring flowers, I love you so much!

After portraits, we split off for Harry’s tisch.

I think they had a pretty good time. :-) And then he was led over to meet his lovely bride!

Time to get married!

I should also mention, there was some pretty stiff competition for good photos here! ;-)

Hurrah!

Following the ceremony, Lauren and Harry threw a fantastic party with all the trimmings. They also have friends who can dance, one of my favorite parts of weddings!

Have I said how much I love a good hora? A LOT.

I also love some wedding limbo!

Lauren and Harry, thanks a million for having me!! Congratulations and many years of happiness to you both!!

Avi & Shira | New Jersey Wedding Photographer | The Atrium

You may remember Avi and Shira from their Central Park engagement session last fall. These two are about the happiest couple together you could imagine, and it was so much fun to photograph them both! Their wedding was held at the Atrium in New Jersey, and though the day was a little chilly for March, they were troopers with outdoor photos and we had a blast making some lovely images!

These are paper flowers! Aren’t they pretty?

Shira’s brothers helped her with the finishing touches.

As I’ve mentioned many times, I love when couples decide to do a first look. The expressions are priceless. :-)

I don’t think these guys could have smiled more if they tried. :-D

It was pretty frigid outside, so we also opted to snap a few indoor shots as well so they could warm up a bit!

After portraits, it was time for Avi’s tish, the bedeken, and the ketubah signing. I love the shot below from the bedeken!

I believe Shira’s dad is reminding her of the correct letters, but mostly I just think it’s a pretty cute moment between the two of them.

And then time for the ceremony.  Cool fun fact: The poles in their chuppah are made of sugar cane, which was then served at the reception; a tradition carried over from Shira’s father’s work in Africa.

After the ceremony it was time for my most favorite part of Jewish weddings, the dancing! Horas and the schtick and all kinds of fun! You guys, the floor was literally SHAKING during this hora! So much energy! :-)

Side note. I’m fairly certain this is the best parents of the groom photo I’ve ever taken. ;-)

Dear wedding shticks, you are my favorite thing ever.

And then there was the time Avi went FLYING. Holy moly. But he recovered playing a pretty wicked air guitar. So all was good. :-)

Avi and Shira, thanks SO much for having me! You two make a wonderful couple and it was so fun getting to be a part of your day! Congratulations and best wishes!

Brittany & Elijah | NYC Wedding Photographer | Housing Works Bookstore

What a way to kick off 2013! You may remember Brittany and Elijah from their super fun engagement photos at the Natural History Museum. I have been looking forward to their wedding for forever, and had a fantastic time! :-)

The wedding was at the Housing Works Bookstore and Cafe, one of the few times you can have not only a great wedding venue, but one that gives back to the community with a wonderful mission as well. I’m so excited to be shooting  a number of weddings here this wedding season!

Not only are Brittany and Elijah two amazing individuals, but their friends can DANCE. I loved every minute of this awesome-ness.

A super high five shout out also goes out to Lindsay for rocking it out as my second shooter! :-)

Check out her beautiful bouquet of vintage brooches… Isn’t it gorgeous?

Meanwhile, Lindsay hung out with Elijah and his team at their hotel.

After these guys were ready, we cabbed it over to Housing Works and set up a first look on the streets of Soho. I love when a couple decides to do a first look, and these photos are some of my favorite first look moments ever. :-)

From there we wandered around the block to get some fun portraits, I love this part of town!

You kids are too cute. :-)

After portraits, Elijah and Brittany had their Ketubah signing and the badeken in the basement of the bookstore while the rest of the guests arrived.

Their ceremony was beautiful, I loved their vows and how much they included friends and family. I also just love the setting of this bookstore for a wedding the lights and guests on the surrounding balcony make for a really cool atmosphere.

Hurrah! And then it was time to PARTY!

Brittany and Elijah also had a shtick, a tradition I always look forward to! This one was full of loads of entertainment, but perhaps my favorite was a rendition of The Little Mermaid’s Kiss the Girl, complete with sing along cue cards!  These guys were hilarious!

And then we HORA!!

DANCE PARTY! As a photographer (and dance loving girl myself ;-) ), I fully appreciate weddings where people can rock a dance floor, and these guys did not disappoint! Love all of these!

Brittany and Elijah, thank you SO SO much for having me be a part of your day! I had an incredible time with you both and wish you loads of happiness for many years to come!

Cheers and congratulations!!

Steven & David | NYC Elopement Photographer | Central Park Conservatory Gardens

Oh my goodness. I had SUCH a ball at this wedding! Steven and David were two of the sweetest guys ever and made for two incredibly handsome grooms! Wouldn’t you say? Also, their outfits were perfect, I think they need to start modeling for Jcrew!

The original plan had been for them to get married in Fort Tryon park, however, because of the damage from Hurricane Sandy, we relocated things to Central Park. Steven went up to the parks office and actually got a special permit on short notice so they could have the wedding in the Conservatory Gardens. I’d been up to this area of the park before, but had never done a wedding here. It’s SO gorgeous!

Before the wedding, we wandered through a few blocks of upper Manhattan around the City Museum of New York for some lovely portraits.

You guys make my heart happy.

In love with this image.

Side note. David crocheted his own scarf! How cool is that?  :-)

Their rings came in a wax sealed box. So fancy!

Their ceremony, performed by Kim Kirkley, was beautiful and heartfelt. These two were surrounded by so much love and support, it was wonderful. They even had a guest via skype!

So much happiness. :-)

Steven and David, I can’t thank you enough for having me! Your day was fabulous and you both are wonderful! Best wishes, congratulations and cheers to many years of happiness for you both!
