Whitney & Jarod: Sneak Peek! | Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park | DUMBO
I met up with Whitney and Jarod this Tuesday evening for an engagement session in Brooklyn. We scheduled their session right at the golden hour before sunset, and were rewarded with some GORGEOUS light! Loads more where these came from, stay tuned!
Jean Ann & Eric | Brooklyn Wedding Photographer | Vander Ende–Onderdonk House
You guys, this wedding? I loved every minute of it. When I first met with Jean Ann and Eric and they told me about the venue they found in Bushwick, I was skeptical. An adorable little farmhouse with a rolling backyard? For real? I lived in this part of town when I first moved to NYC and couldn’t imagine a space like this existed. But low and behold these guys hit the jackpot. Beautiful farmhouse charm. Green backyard. And surrounding neighborhood with amazing character for photos?
Perfection.
Add in an adorable couple that can’t stop smiling and laughing, a group of friends who can bring the dance party, delicious food, and a beautiful day and you’ve got one awesome celebration!
Jean Ann looked gorgeous, and all her vintage details were beautiful. I loved the birdcage veil!
First looks = awesome.
After their first look, we hit the surrounding streets of Bushwick for portraits. Their friends made sure everyone knew the way to the ceremony from the subway with tons of sidewalk chalk!
I would just like to say that this area of Brooklyn ROCKS for photos! No offense Central Park, but I’ll take bright colors, amazing street art, and some cool old warehouse buildings any day!
We were primarily in the area around the Bushwick Collective, an outdoor gallery of sorts for fantastic street art. Super cool.
Can you get any cuter then these two?
We also stopped for cocktails, because why not?
I loved her bouquet!
Hurray for COLORS!
After portraits, we walked back to the house for their ceremony, which was held in the backyard of the VanderEnde house. I still can’t believe this place exists in the middle of a super urban industrial neighborhood.
They each wrote their own heartfelt vows.
Their reception was one of the best ever! You can NOT go wrong with taco trucks, guacamole, ice cream sandwiches, and oh yes, a second line band! Jean Ann went to undergrad at Tulane, and brought a little of New Orleans up to Brooklyn. This was my second wedding with a brass band, and they are hands down my favorite. These guys and their guests brought the dancing skills!
Seriously. Awesome-sauce.
SO much fun!
If this isn’t happiness. I don’t know what is.
Jean Ann and Eric, thank you for being amazing and so much fun! I wish you all the best, congratulations!

You guys. This wedding had more awesome then I even knew what to do with! Jean Ann and Eric were married in one of the coolest venues ever, that also led us out onto the streets of Bushwick for some amazing photos! Their wedding had tacos and ice cream sandwiches. And a New Orleans brass band. Need I say more?
I’m super pumped for these images, more to come!
Congrats guys! Enjoy your train adventure!!
Jen & Jonathan | New York City Elopement Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park
Jen and Jonathan hopped over from Ireland to get married in Brooklyn last week! This was such a great elopement, not only because Jen and Jonathan were awesome, but because I got to shoot in my old neighborhood of Cobble Hill and it was an absolutely gorgeous day!
I started off with them at their apartment while they got ready and then we wandered from there. Aren’t her flowers pretty? I love all the creative bouquets people have!
We were also joined by their little son Ollie! Isn’t he adorable?
You kids are so cute!
I have semi obsession with the old carriage house doors in Brooklyn.
From Cobble Hill, we wandered down the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and then down to Brooklyn Bridge Park for the wedding.
I loved this bike! And, just for the record, I didn’t ask for this hand placement. Though I couldn’t help but point it out.
The ceremony was right on the water, officiated by the always lovely Judie Guild.
Congrats guys! I wish you all the best!

I had a wonderful afternoon with Jen, Jonathan and their little son Ollie! We wandered through my old stomping grounds in Cobble Hill and then headed down to Brooklyn Bridge Park for their ceremony officiated by the fabulous Judie Guild.
Congratulations and a very Happy Birthday to Jen! More to come!
Heather & Justin | Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park
A few weekends ago I was back in NYC and had the pleasure of spending my morning with Heather and Justin out on the Brooklyn Promenade. They are getting married this summer in Cape May, but wanted a few shots around their neighborhood in the city as well. I love this area of Brooklyn and though it was chilly, we had a great time and I had a ball working with these two!
From the promenade we made our way down past the Watchtower and around Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO for a few more fun shots!
Congrats guys! Best wishes on your wedding this summer!

Here’s a quick peek at Heather and Justin’s session from this Saturday morning! We had a great time wandering on the Promenade and down through Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO, more to come!
Valery & Boris | The Stunt Wedding | Hollywood Stunts NYC | Brooklyn Wedding Photographer
So there are weddings. And then there are STUNT weddings. When I first got the email from Valery with the subject line “The Stunt Wedding” I was immediately intrigued. As a somewhat closet fun loving adventure/adrenaline junkie, (white water rafting, sky diving, trapeze, canyoning, yes and yes! Though I have yet to add stunt jumping to my resume…
) I couldn’t help but be SUPER excited about this idea. And you guys? This wedding rocked. In every sense of awesome.
This wedding could also not have been more New York. In a back alley warehouse in Brooklyn, a bride from Russia and a groom from Peru got hitched jumping off a 30 foot platform. Only in NYC I tell you. I love it.
Also, can I tell you how much I LOVE shooting in back alleys and random streets in Brooklyn?? A LOT. No offense to Central Park, but changing things up a bit made my heart so very happy. If you’re thinking about going for somewhere different, DO IT. I adore these images. Valery and Boris, I could work with you kids all day.
Also, Greenpoint? You make for awesome backdrops.
Super bonus? Skyline from across the water!
You guys are gorgeous!
After a quick photo tour around the block, we headed back to Hollywood Stunts NYC for the ceremony. These guys were super great at helping out, making sure everyone was safe and comfortable atop very high platforms. (Yes, I also climbed up a mighty high tower with my gear to get these images!)
With their guests seated out front (they had no idea what was going to happen
) the show opened with the theme from Star Wars and Boris climbing up the tower!
Valery was soon to follow. Climbing up a ladder in your wedding dress? You rock woman!
Huge high fives to Judie Guild for officiating this whole show. She did an awesome job and wins the rockstar officiant award for sure!
I love the look on Boris’ face.
Ring delivery!
And with a kiss it’s then time for the JUMP! I love everything about this!!
SO Amazing!!
After the jump, the guests were loaded up onto a bus and taken out to lunch at a The Meatball Shop in Williamsburg. Super tasty and perfect for their celebration!
Isn’t this cake great??
Before lunch was served we went out to the front of the restaurant to take a few family photos and a couple more photos of these two. While taking these, Boris asked me, “Is this the first time you’ve taken romantic photos in front of a wall of antique meat grinders?” Yep. I’d have to say it was.
And it was perfect. If the above image isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
Valery and Boris, couples like you two are why my job is awesome. I can’t thank you enough for inviting me to share your day. It was fantastic. Congratulations. Keep up the adventures and I wish you all kinds of happiness!
Erika & Hayward | Brooklyn Wedding Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park | Dumbo Loft
Erika and Hayward are another one of my awesome couples from Offbeat Bride! When Erika called to tell me she was having a multicultural Japanese-Jamaican Belly Dancing wedding, I couldn’t have been more excited! I think the cultural aspects of weddings are so interesting, and photographing the coming together of so many different cultures from across the globe was really neat.
Erika also had loads of cool details, from bouquets made from book pages to a peacock hairpiece. Love it!
Oh hello beautiful blue heels!
Seriously, the most awesome things are found on etsy these days! I loved these flowers!
Isn’t she gorgeous?
Erika and Hayward were married on the steps of the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was a fantastically beautiful sunny evening! You don’t get much better wedding ceremony views then this!
After the ceremony, we wandered through the park and then over into DUMBO for their reception at the Dumbo Loft.
You guys are adorable!
I love this mural and the bright colors!
Then on to the party at Dumbo Loft!
On of my favorite parts of the reception is capturing the reactions to the toasts. There were some great ones at this event!
Hayward and his mom dancing might just be the cutest thing ever.
And then! The belly dancing! SO cool! Erika’s aunt was amazing!
Dance party! These guys had some moves!
Erika & Hayward, super congratulations to you both! Thanks so much for having me!
