Whitney & Jarod: Sneak Peek! | Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park | DUMBO
I met up with Whitney and Jarod this Tuesday evening for an engagement session in Brooklyn. We scheduled their session right at the golden hour before sunset, and were rewarded with some GORGEOUS light! Loads more where these came from, stay tuned!
Heather & Justin | Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Brooklyn Bridge Park
A few weekends ago I was back in NYC and had the pleasure of spending my morning with Heather and Justin out on the Brooklyn Promenade. They are getting married this summer in Cape May, but wanted a few shots around their neighborhood in the city as well. I love this area of Brooklyn and though it was chilly, we had a great time and I had a ball working with these two!
From the promenade we made our way down past the Watchtower and around Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO for a few more fun shots!
Congrats guys! Best wishes on your wedding this summer!

Julie & Bryon | Brooklyn Engagement Photography | Brooklyn, NYC
I first met Julie and Bryon over a year ago when I very first started advertising on Offbeat Bride. I remember being super excited as they’re such a fun couple and I’m pretty sure their wedding is going to be amazing awesome.
When discussing engagement shoot locations, so many couples get stressed about picking the perfect place. Not these guys. Julie had one location in mind, but that fell through, so she and Bryon decided they just wanted to get fun photos of them being them in their apartment! I’m generally up for anything, so we went for it.
You guys, in all the million photos I took, I think maybe there’s like five where Julie isn’t in a fit of laughter.
Julie is a musician\librarian so we started off with some fun with guitars. (I’ve been told there will be a jam session on the wedding day. Super excited. )
Bryon also busted out his camera!
From there, we moved onto some serious reading.
Since we did the session on a weekday evening in December, it was most certainly dark out. I was excited to get the chance to do some night portraits as well. This one from the fire escape is my favorite times a million.
Thanks Julie and Bryon for having me over! I had a fabulous time and am so VERY excited for your wedding in March!!

So there are a mountain of silly awesome photos from tonight’s session with these two. Including, but not limited to photos with books on zombies, guitar playing, fist bumping, and general giggly awesome-ness. I’ll get those up soon! However, when I was going through the photos, this image from out on the fire escape completely took me. I don’t take many portrait sessions at night, but sometimes it works. I love this so very much.
Julie & Eric | Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Coney Island
When I first met Julie and Eric, I had just run the Brooklyn Half Marathon. The race finishes on the Coney Island Boardwalk. As I was walking around after the finish, I remember thinking, I would LOVE to do a session here with a fun couple! Thus, a few days later when these two asked where I’d like to shoot if I had the chance, I immediately said, Coney Island! Fast forward a few months later, and they were still up for it! I could not have been more excited!
So, as a general rule, my couples are awesome, and these guys were no exception. I’m pretty sure they might win a prize for one of the most fun engagement sessions to date!
Not only are Julie and Eric ridiculously fun, but they’re pretty amazingly cute in photos! Am I right?
My only instructions were: Oooh! That wall is colorful, go stand between the arrows! Reason #4,273 these guys are amazing.
Bumper car engagement session? Always YES.
After we left the amusement park and went out onto the boardwalk and there was a live band playing. Eric said, with no prompting from me, “Should we dance?” My answer to questions like these will always be, “OF COURSE you should dance!”
Because, what Coney Island session is complete without Spiderman?
We also managed to get in a nice walk on the beach.
After we had our fill of outdoor fun (it was seriously HOT this October day) we retreated inside for a few cold beers at the Coney Island Museum.
Julie and Eric, thanks so much for a fantastically fun afternoon! I am SUPER excited for your wedding next spring!!

Brooklyn Engagement Photographer | Serena and Sean
Last weekend I met Serena and Sean at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens for their engagement session. These two are from Taiwan and are getting married this summer in Central Park before going back to Asia for a big celebration.
I had a ball working with both of them and am super excited for their wedding! Here a few photos from our afternoon. Enjoy!
After the gardens, we also headed down by the Brooklyn bridge for a few shots.
