Top 6 Places to have your Elopement Ceremony in New York City

Top 6 Places to have your Elopement Ceremony in New York City

One of the best parts of eloping in New York City is that you can have your micro wedding or elopement virtually wherever you like as long as it’s a public place. For many places you don’t even need a permit, or if you do it’s very affordable. There are so many spots to choose, I have another more complete list of the best places to elope in NYC, but these are 6 of my favorite places for elopement ceremonies or micro weddings in NYC. I would love to help you fin the best place for your elopement in one of the best cities in the world!

Central Park

Central Park has everything you could want for an elopement in New York. Beautiful green spaces, skyline views, the iconic architecture of Bethesda Terrace and even neighboring streets that give that classic NYC feel.

You can tuck into Wagner Cove, Dene Shelter, or a little cove in the ramble for a private ceremony, or bring a larger group in someplace like Cop Cot. If you’re willing to spring for the permit, the Conservatory Garden is one of the most beautiful spots for a ceremony. I outline all the options in my Guide to Central Park Weddings.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

If you’re looking for soaring skyline views and the classic Brooklyn Bridge, this park is your spot. It’s huge, there are lots of places to chose from, but you can’t go wrong picking out a little section on the boardwalk or in the lawn and tying the knot! Afterwards we can wander with views for miles and duck in the streets of Dumbo for some colorful street art and cobblestone lanes. Check out my Guide to Brooklyn Bridge Park Weddings for more information on different locations within the park.

Top of the Rock

The queen of rooftops! If it’s just you and your beloved, this a amazing spot for a ceremony first thing in the morning. The views here are incredible and you can’t get much more New York then the top of 30 Rock!

Fort Tryon Park

The archways, the manicured gardens, the views of the GW Bridge? It’s also always incredibly quiet and peaceful up here. Fort Tryon is a bit of a hike from the rest of Manhattan, but it’s well worth the trip for a beautiful elopement ceremony location.

NY Public Library Steps/Facade

Beautiful white marble, a covered location in case of rain, incredible architecture, close to lots of fun streets for photos? The NYPL at 42nd Street has it all. Come early morning before the library opens and you’ll have it to yourself. It’s a great spot for a micro wedding or elopement with just a few guests.

Coney Island

I mean, is there a more fun place to take photos? It’s been a long time since I’ve done an elopement ceremony here, but riding rides, taking a spin on the ferris wheel and saying your vows beach front? What could be better? Coney Island is colorful, fun, funky and if you’re looking for a great offbeat spot with the carnival circus vibe, this is your jam.
