To start: a big announcement for those planning to elope in New York with a City Hall Wedding in NYC…. You can now bring in 3 guests to your City Hall wedding ceremony!!! Woohoo!! It’s been a long time coming and has been stressful for some couples having to chose between a photographer and their loved ones. However, no more! Lots more joy in the marriage bureau as of February 14th, 2023 couples are allowed to bring in 3 guests for a max total of 5 in each party (children under 12 can be extra).
Back to this City Hall Wedding in NYC, Gabby and Daniel! Gabby and Daniel came to get married at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau this summer and I had a lovely time with them both. They are the sweetest, kindest pair and a total joy to work with. The office wasn’t too busy on this particular day, so had lots of time for photos afterwards.
Hurray! They did it!
After the wedding we went to two nearby areas for portraits. First up, Chinatown. This area full of colorful streets is right around the block from the clerk’s office, so it always makes for a great stop for photos. This particular corner is usually pretty quiet, however, I remember on this day we ended up right at the same a tour group was coming through, so we didn’t stick around too long.
After Chinatown, we popped in a cab for the super quick ride down to South Street Seaport. If you’re doing a City Hall wedding in NYC, the South Street Seaport area is an awesome option for portraits before or after. It’s super close to City Hall and there’s lots of cute streets, pretty storefronts, and of course a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side.
Isn’t Gabby’s ring beautiful?
Congrats Gabby and Daniel!!
