I love when couples find a unique venue for their elopement. Erin and Marie had originally been planning on an elopement at Freeman’s Alley (another awesome spot for photos) but then after some changes in plan, decided to do things at the hotel where they were staying, the Ludlow Hotel. The Ludlow Hotel is a fantastic spot and it’s location in the Lower East Side is great for couples looking to explore some fun neighborhoods.
Erin and Marie are both theater nerds from the midwest who love Broadway. So when they got engaged and had tickets booked to NYC they knew they wanted to go ahead and elope in New York! I’m so glad they did! This wedding was such a fantastic way to kick off the year!
Erin and Marie eloped with their closest friends surrounding them with love. In fact, Marie’s outfit was even custom made by one of her friends! How cool!
They knew they wanted to have a first look and were getting ready in different rooms at the Ludlow Hotel. I was happy to pop between both of them for some fun getting ready photos. I know some elopement couples just want a few photos of the ceremony, but I love when I get to see the full story starting with getting ready! It’s such a fun part of the day with all the anticipation in the air.
Nothing better then having your best friends help you get dressed on your wedding day.
Then it was time for the first look on the rooftop of the Ludlow Hotel. Now, mind you, it was FREEZING and insanely windy on this particular January day, so this two were definitely troopers for going with the outdoor ceremony and first look. But OMG, I LOVE their faces seeing each other for the first time!
So cute!
Onto the ceremony! The Ludlow has a great view of the skyline on the roof, so it was the perfect spot for a quick vow exchange officiated by their good friend. Extra bonus of a blustery January day? We were the only people up there!
They did it! Hurray!
After the wedding ceremony on the rooftop, we went down to the lounge next to the lobby for a few portraits. It was a really neat space and even had some pretty twinkly lights leftover I think from the holidays.
If you ask if you can twirl in your dress, I will ALWAYS encourage it.
Congrats Erin and Marie!! Thank you so much for having me!
