There are so many great spots to have a wedding in Central Park. One of the spots that is somewhat under utilized is the Belvedere Castle. Did you know there’s a castle in Central Park? Belvedere Castle sits above Turtle Pond about halfway up the park and is right behind where they do Shakespeare in the Park theater performances every summer.
It’s a beautiful area, and while it can be fairly packed with tourists pending the time of day, it’s also a really nice open space that can work great for a wedding ceremony. Kay and Rishab opted to have their Central Park wedding here and it was a great choice for their vows.
If you know me, one thing I LOVE in a wedding is color! And this elopement had it in spades! A purple wedding gown?! YES PLEASE! Kay looked absolutely incredible and I loved her purple wedding dress, and it played so well with Rishab’s suit. If you’ve been thinking about going non-traditional for your wedding dress, I’m always here for it. This was so fun to photograph.
I met up with Kay and Rishab around the boat pond, and then we wandered all through Bethesda Terrace and up to Shakespeares Garden for their photos. This Central Park wedding was in prime summer weather, so it was warm and the park was lush and green. As we got up to the castle Kay and Rishab were met by their family and friends and were married by a close friend of their’s right on the main plaza. Their final kiss was met with huge applause and a fabulous afternoon was had by all!
