One of my favorite things to photograph are proposals! I love the surprise, the emotions, the nervous jitters beforehand. Photographing surprise marriage proposals in NYC is kind of part photo ninja, part spy, part wedding photographer. It’s so much fun to be in on the secret and it’s always the best when the proposee says yes!

Paco and Alyssa came up from Texas to explore NYC for a fun weekend getaway and Paco knew he was going to propose at sunset on the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront. I love this spot at sunset and it didn’t disappoint on this evening. The weather all day had been threatening rain, it was even sprinkling when I got off the subway. However, as I made my way down to Brooklyn Bridge Park for the surprise proposal, the clouds started to clear up and I knew we were going to have some amazing golden hour light! The added bonus of getting in just after some questionable weather? On what would normally be a packed boardwalk, Paco and Alyssa had the place almost to themselves! It was perfection.

And while I may never wear fancy heels myself, Alyssa’s hot pink shoes were amazing for photos! I ALWAYS love a bright pop of color!

She said yes!

After the surprise NYC proposal, we headed around Brooklyn Bridge Park for photos and then up into Dumbo for a bit of street art and the famous Washington Street shot with the Manhattan Bridge.

Brooklyn Proposal Photographer | NYC Proposal | Jason & Cemone

It’s been awhile since I photographed a proposal so I was thrilled to hear from Jason when we was planning a proposal to his girlfriend Cemone. Jason debated a bunch of locations, but ultimately decided on a Brooklyn proposal at Washington Street in with the Manhattan Bridge in the background.

I headed down to Brooklyn this afternoon to wait for them. They wandered down the street, asked a stranger for a photo and then he popped the question! I love photographing proposals! Cemone was surprised and excited and the tourists around us were equally thrilled. It was perfect.

After Cemone said yes we headed down to the waterfront for some skyline photos and then back up for a walk on the bridge. We made sure to stop for some ice cream, with rainbow sprinkles of course!, before I sent them on their way to celebrate.

Huge congrats to Cemone and Jason! It was lovely to meet you both and I wish you all the best!

Proposal at Loopy Doopy | NYC Proposal Photographer | Mitch & Tara: Sneak Peek!

I love photographing proposals in NYC! When Mitch contacted me about capturing his proposal to his girlfriend I was super excited to be part of the moment. Mitch was flying in to surprise Tara, she had no idea he would be in town! After quite the epic travel day and many delays and changes of plans, he made it and we got Tara up to the rooftop bar Loopy Doopy above where she was staying at the Conrad Hotel. As she walked through the door, Mitch was there waiting for her down on one knee! Needless to say she was super surprised and of course, she said yes!

Snowy Central Park Proposal | NYC Proposal Photographer

It was a winter wonderland morning on Saturday and I was excited for the first snowfall of the year! Cat Rock makes for a great backdrop for a proposal in Central Park, and on a winter morning there wasn’t anyone else in sight. Thomas got a resounding yes for his snowy Central Park proposal and these two lovebirds capped off their whirlwind trip to NYC with such a romantic moment.

Romantic Rooftop Proposal in NYC | Anthony & Nicole: Sneak Peek!

Late Friday evening I had the delight of photographing Anthony’s romantic rooftop proposal in NYC! This proposal was amazing. Anthony collaborated with his coworkers to get access to this amazing rooftop in the West Village and they also helped set up the candle scene for him to propose. After a concert in Times Square, Anthony led his girlfriend back to the apartment and took her up to the rooftop. A favorite song was playing, he got down on one knee, and she said yes! All with the incredible views of the Empire State Building in the background. Afterwards we popped over to Washington Square for a few holiday photos with the tree.

NYC Marriage Proposal at Gantry Park | NYC Proposal Photographer | Joe & Anjali

It’s a busy holiday season around here, but I’m jumping back to this summer as I get caught up on all the awesome couples I’ve gotten to work with in 2016! Next up is this amazing NYC surprise proposal at Gantry Park in Queens.

Joe was looking for the perfect spot to propose to his girlfriend Anjali and knew he wanted a skyline in the background. There are few greater spots in the city for a view like Gantry Park. You get sweeping vistas of midtown, complete with the Empire State Building and it’s right along the river with a beautiful boardwalk for photos afterwards. On the evening I met up with them, the weather was threatening rain, in fact there were some brief storms that just missed us. But as I arrived at Gantry Plaza to get set up the sun was beaming through the clouds and it was a perfect evening.

Anjali was so surprised as Joe got down on one knee for the proposal and her face was priceless. I love love love shooting proposals for this reason, so much pure emotion. Getting to be a part of all the excitement isn’t bad either! After he popped the question, she said yes! I stuck around to take some fun just engaged photos afterwards and the happiness brimming in these two was beautiful.

Restaurant Proposal in NYC | Matt & Stacie: Sneak Peek!

Proposals are so much fun to be a part of, I love photographing them! Matt made last night the most amazing night with a restaurant proposal in NYC for his girlfriend Stacie! After dinner where they had their first date, he got down on one knee to pop the question. Stacie’s face was complete shock followed by happy tears and she said yes!

After a champagne toast, we headed out for some photos in the neighborhood and then surprise number 2… Matt arranged for her family and friends to meet them at a rooftop lounge for a surprise engagement party! Stacie’s reaction was priceless!

NYC Proposal Photographer | Gantry Plaza State Park | Joe & Anjali: Sneak Peek!

I love photographing proposals in NYC and the view from tonights proposal was amazing! Gantry Plaza State Park is one of the best spots in the city for views of the New York City skyline. It made for the perfect backdrop for Joe to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend Anjali… and she said yes!
