Two days before this City Hall Elopement I got a frantic phone call from a past bride, Leah. “Are you available…on Wednesday? My sister in law just got engaged!” You see, her sister in law Mel and her boyfriend had traveled to NYC from Australia to visit. But surprise! They also got engaged the day before and were going to elope! Leah decided wedding photos would be the perfect gift and luckily I was available on short notice! (Note to all: it’s never too late to ask!)
I was so thrilled to not only see Leah and Allan again, but to work with Mel and Dan. These guys were so much fun and just all about having the most relaxed fun day possible. I met up with them for their first look at Central Park’s Bethesda Terrace. We then wandered through the park hitting up all the great spots. It was raining a bit, but these guys were troopers in the weather and everything worked out just fine. We hopped in a cab from there to Grand Central for a few shots and then onwards to City Hall for their ceremony. Things were super speedy at the clerk’s office and we had time to head across the bridge for some scenic skyline shots at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Congratulations Mel & Dan! Best wishes to you both!
