Central Park Ladies Pavilion Wedding

When people talk about getting married in Central Park and finding a Central Park wedding venue, one of the first places to come to mind is almost always the Ladies Pavilion. Ladies Pavilion is probably one of the most popular wedding venues in Central Park.

It is centrally located, it has a roof over your head in case of rain, and is large enough to fit a few guests. When Michael and Leksy chose the Ladies Pavilion for their Central Park wedding in the fall, I’m sure all of these things factored into their decision.

Is it easy to have a wedding at the Ladies Pavilion? Like all Central Park weddings and elopements, it is indeed fairly easy to coordinate. The only things you have to have are a marriage license and an officiant. If you need the background on how to get married in NYC, check out my post here: How to Get Married in NYC. If you need more background on how to get married in Central Park. My Central Park wedding guide is a great place to start.

Do you need a permit to get married at the Ladies Pavilion? A permit is not required if you have 20 or fewer guests. However, as it IS one of the most popular wedding venues in Central Park, it’s always a good idea to have one just in case. You can get your Central Park wedding permit from the NYC Parks department.

On to this Central Park wedding! Michael and Leksy came from Long Island to have their fall elopement in Central Park and I had so much fun working with them and their families. A fun thing about getting married at the Ladies Pavilion is it’s set up well for a traditional “down the aisle” first look, I love the look on Michael’s face as he’s waiting to see his bride.

The Ladies Pavilion in Central Park can fit about 6-8 folks inside, if you have a bigger crowd, they can gather around the outside.

Just married! Hurray! The Ladies Pavilion is a great spot to celebrate with a little first dance after your wedding ceremony.

After their wedding ceremony in the Ladies Pavilion, we had some time to wander around Central Park for portraits and it was a beautiful fall day! This area has lots of great green space, but my fave spot, if you’re willing to hop over the rocks a bit is Hearnshead Rock just behind Ladies Pavilion. You get some amazing views of the Central Park south skyline over the lake.

Cool fun fact about this Central Park elopement? Leksy sewed her own dress! She’s so talented!

After finishing up at the Ladies Pavilion we took a little around Cherry Hill, including a stop in the ramble and finishing at Bethesda Terrace.
