A rainy, snowy Manhattan Courthouse wedding

I often find couples are very worried about the weather on their wedding day. However, unless it’s an actual blizzard or hurricane (which I’ve actually done both!) you’re likely going to be ok. I have a bag full of big clear umbrellas, hand warmers as needed, and am prepared for all the weather! Bryan and Lulu had Manhattan courthouse wedding at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau just before Christmas and it was positively yucky outside. However, these two were so incredibly adorable and up for anything that we made it work and I think got some awesome City Hall wedding photos!

One thing to note, if you’re looking for a Manhattan courthouse wedding, you’ll actually be getting married at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau which is interchangeably known as the City Clerk’s Office and/or City Hall! There are so many different names for the same place. Just know that while people call these City Hall weddings, City hall is actually down the street. The City Clerk’s Office or the Marriage Bureau is what you’re looking for! As long as you end up at 141 Worth Street, you’re in the right place for your Manhattan courthouse wedding!

I didn’t know this was going to happen, but it ended up being their first look right as Bryan walked in! He was so smitten with his bride!

It was a pretty empty day in City Hall, and they got their NY Marriage license paperwork squared away pretty quickly.

There are two rooms for ceremonies at the Manhattan City Clerk’s office for weddings, we ended up in the purple with flowers room. The other side has pink stripes.

For anyone who is worried manhattan courthouse weddings are not special or without emotion, just check out how high Lulu jumped in excitement to get married! I love these quick and simple ceremonies, and find they just as special and full of emotion as you want them to be.

I always ask people if they want the cheesy City Hall backdrop photo, and Lulu and Bryan were game to be silly!

After their City Hall wedding, we headed across the river to Brooklyn and Bryan and Lulu took me up to their rooftop that has an AMAZING view! We had to bust out the umbrellas, but I think they add to the fun and I love how these Brooklyn Bridge photos turned out!

After the rooftop we took a stroll through Brooklyn Bridge Park. The bonus of having not the best weather is you have places like this to yourself!
