While everyone loves cherry blossoms and fall colors in Central Park, I think there is something so magical about snow in the city! I love a romantic winter elopement in Central Park, especially if you can time it with a fresh snowfall! If you’re worried about how to manage a winter elopement in NYC, I have lots of tips on my blog!
Ashlee and Dave got married in February and got so lucky with freshly fallen snow for their winter elopement in Central Park! They opted for the Dene Shelter for their elopement ceremony, which is one of my favorite spots in Central Park for an elopement. It’s on the east side of the park, and almost always fairly quiet. It also has a beautiful view of the skyline on the rocks right behind the shelter, so you get a bit of everything!
The Dene Shelter has room for around 10 guests and the couple getting married and has benches along the walls, so it’s a great spot for a small wedding with family members who may need a seat during the ceremony.

Aren’t their rings beautiful? I love the tree/bark motif!

Ashlee was escorted into the ceremony by her dad while wearing the most fabulous pant suit! I’m always for sticking with the traditions that mean the most to you!

They had the cutest ceremony officiated by a close friend. So many smiles and laughter were had throughout!

A drift of snow fell through the roof right as they kissed! It made for such a fun effect with the snow flakes!

As I mentioned, the rocks behind the Dene Shelter in Central Park have a great view of the skyline. It’s perfect for photos, and Ashlee and Dave were up for all the fun photos!

A question I often get, can we pop champagne after our Central Park wedding? Well, technically, according to the rules, no. Does it happen all the the time? Yes. Will I always take the photos? Of course. 🙂 Also, I think this was a bottle of cider, but I am here always for all the popping of any kind of bubbles! It makes for a great photo!

After some bubbly, we went for a walk around the park to enjoy some snowy scenery. One of the great parts of the Dene Shelter is that it’s very close to the Mall and Bethesda Terrace, and there are ample spots for elopement photos nearby.

Ashlee’s dipping ability was unmatched, these guys had style! I am all in for the wedding pantsuit, it looked amazing with her heels!

As I’ve mentioned in my City Hall wedding guide, you can get any and all manner of souvenirs at the City Clerk’s office, and these two made sure to snag some shirts and wanted to get a photo with them on their day. It was so much fun!
