I’ve been doing lots more marriage proposals lately which has been so much fun! Photographing a proposal is always fun challenge as you can be part spy, part photo ninja, part actor playing a part. In this particular Central Park sunset marriage proposal, I got to do the later. Chris had sold a story to his girlfriend Laura that they would be taking some headshots for their jobs, along with maybe some fun couple photos in the park one evening. Central Park is great for proposals as there are so many different spots to propose. Chris picked a bridge by the reservoir he often saw on his walks home from work and with Laura in the park. While not a normal spot I go for photos, this was a perfect place for them! It was a double bonus that he decided to propose right around sunset in Central Park and we had the most beautiful summer evening.
A few photos walking in, and then I led them to bridge we had discussed beforehand. She was so surprised! I LOVE this moment in proposals! So many genuine happy giggles afterwards, it’s the best!
She said yes!
We grabbed some photos on the bridge, and then went down into the neighboring lawn to get some fun photos in the sunset light as well. The golden in Central Park that evening was stunning!
We also took some photos up on the reservoir path, which is not something I usually do. As a runner myself, I know it can be annoying to have people on the trail taking photos, but on this evening for whatever reason we lucked out and it was mostly empty! That view with the light! I’m obsessed with how gorgeous it was!
Did I climb in the bushes to get these shots with yellow flowers… perhaps.. I love a good flower shot. 🙂
