What a fun morning! Larissa and Felix are from Europe, but are in the process of moving to NYC. As part of their journey, they decided to get married at City Hall! The City Clerk’s office is getting busier and busier, but still has appointments thanks to Covid. I, for one, am a fan of this appointment process as it’s helped the wait considerably. While it still can be unpredictable, waits are no where near where they were pre-covid. Larissa and Felix were in and out in about 20 minutes.
If you’re planning on getting married at City Hall in NYC, it is important to note that masks are still required and you’re still only permitted one witness. A bummer for sure, but I’m always happy to be your witness and you’ll get lots of great photos to pass on to family and friends!
I get lots of questions from folks about whether or not you have to wear a mask for your ceremony at the Clerk’s Office. I’ve found it depends on the clerk. There are a few who request that you were masks through the ceremony, but can remove them for the kiss. A few others are fine with you taking them off for the entirety of the ceremony. It completely depends on who you get.
After the wedding ceremony, Larissa and Felix asked if we could walk over to Soho and meander the streets. The BEST idea!!.I don’t know why I don’t get more couples asking for Soho wedding photos. It’s not a bad walk from City Hall, and it’s such classic NYC architecture, perfect for photo backdrops. I also love just wandering fun neighborhoods with couples. These were earlier in the morning, so more ideal for fewer crowds as well.
Also, have I mentioned I LOVE Larissa’s dress?? It’s SO cute!!
