This wedding was so much fun! And also, so very soaked. So, backstory, Olga and Angel were very excited about getting married on the Williamsburg waterfront. Their families would be in attendance and we had planned on early morning to get some great light and avoid the crowds. Cue the week of their elopement, and I’m checking the weather and it’s forecasting a literal hurricane is coming to town….exactly on their wedding date. Now I’m fine with rainy weddings to an extent, but hurricanes tend to put a damper on the outdoor wedding plans to say the least.
We all got lucky in that everyone was available to move some things around and they opted to have the ceremony the following day instead. The worst of the hurricane passed through, and I was walked out to Bushwick Inlet Park, it seemed like the rain might even hold out. Daniela from Once Upon a Vow showed up and we both crossed our fingers and were like ok! This might actually work! And it did!
Olga and Angel has an awesome elopement ceremony on the Williamsburg waterfront, and the clouds even parted just a bit to get a glimpse of the skyline. We stayed dry through their vows, which yes, they definitely thumb wrestled for who went first (amazing!) and for family photos afterwards. A weather miracle! As we headed out into the streets of Williamsburg and wandered down towards Greenpoint the sky had other plans though and we definitely got wet. Olga and Angel had such great attitudes however and we busted out the umbrellas and kept on going no worse for wear. I can’t thank these guys enough for being so gracious, kind and just so darn fun to photograph. I had the most fun on this day, despite how soaked I may or may not have gotten.
Olga made her own flowers! Aren’t they gorgeous!?
Cheers to love and making the best of a rainy day!
