Justin and Melissa had originally planned to have a big wedding in May of 2020. As the world shut down for Covid though, their plans were changed and they postponed their event to April 2021. As spring of 2021 came around, and the world still wasn’t quite back to normal yet, they made the decision to push their big celebration plans back yet again. However in doing so, they also opted to still have a smaller wedding with just a few friends and close family. Enter their Central Park micro wedding at Cat Rock. I love Cat Rock for it’s dramatic view of the midtown skyline and it’s the perfect spot for a micro wedding is a small group.
Justin and Melissa lucked out with a cool, sunny spring evening and we had a great time wandering the park just before sunset. The cherry blossoms had just started to bloom and we managed to get a few photos with their bright pink flowers next to Bethesda Terrace before heading down the mall to their ceremony location.
Their ceremony was extra special as it was officiated by Melissa’s 95 year old grandmother! I love when couples have someone close to them officiate, and this was my first grandmother officiant. She did an excellent job!
I’m so excited to celebrate with them for the big wedding next year, but for now this beautiful day was great indicator of wonderful things to come! You can even read more about them in the NY Times, their story was feature in the Vows section a few weeks back! Congratulations Justin and Melissa!
