I had the most fun photographing this intimate wedding at the Boro Hotel in Long Island City, Queens last fall. Sean and Jonathan are just the sweetest couple and were total hams for the camera. The two of them met at Gay Pride back in 2015 immediately after same sex marriage passed nation wide. They literally caught each other’s eye across the room at a party, and the rest is history! They were married on National Coming Out Day, and it was an amazing celebration of their love surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
They chose to have their ceremony at the Boro Hotel, not only because of it’s great views of the Manhattan skyline but also because of it’s pet friendly factor. They are passionate cat dads, and their little fur baby got in on some fun photos as well. 🙂 I met them in their room for a bit of getting ready and pet photos and then we headed out onto the balconies and down into the lobby for more fun shots. There is so much to work with in this hotel, it was really fun for photo taking!
Sean and Jonathan had originally planned on a rooftop ceremony, but unfortunately the weather was refusing to cooperate, so got married in front of the windows on the top floor instead which worked out just as well. Their ceremony was heartfelt and included lots of fun details and stories, from a frog ring box to hearing about Sean’s ring which contained actual dinosaur fossil! How cool is that?
Afterwards there were hilarious toasts and dinner for all. Congratulations Sean and Jonathan! It was such a pleasure meeting you both! Best wishes!
