This was the most fun little wedding at Carl Schurz Park! Carl Schurz Park is down the street from where I live and I think is one of the greatest little hidden gems in the city. It’s peaceful at most any hour of the day and has beautiful scenery. It’s also much more compact and thus easier to navigate then Central Park while still offering a variety of backdrops. The other great thing about an elopement or wedding at Carl Schurz Park is that not only do we have the park, but it’s right next to some lovely streets of the Upper East Side, so we can get green space and classic NYC neighborhood as well.
Nathan used to live in the area and he and Miki decided it would be the perfect place for them to exchange vows with their family and friends. We met up on a chilly but sunny morning this past fall and Miki’s best friend performed the ceremony in the Peter Pan Garden. It’s clear these two are meant to be together. After making things official we went for a quick wander through the park and a few neighboring blocks and then I sent them off to enjoy their celebratory brunch! These two were so full of laughter, it was so much fun to photograph. Also, don’t you love Miki’s wedding cape?!
