I had so much fun with these two! Daniela and Dwayne are fellow travel lovers and their meet story even involves the airport! Per Daniela, “We met at the airport 7 years ago. I had 2 huge suitcases and he offered to help me to my taxi. The taxi driver didn’t accept credit cards (his machine was broken) and I didn’t have any cash. It was late at night. Dwayne offered to pay for it. We exchanged numbers so we could meet to give him the money back. He trusted me or he thought I was worth the risk, I guess! LOL! “
We had planned to do a first look in Foley Square, but taxi shenanigans got things all turned around and Daniela ended up sneaking up behind us right in front of the clerk’s office. No matter, it worked out just great! We hurried inside and they were the second to last ones to get a number and we were set to go. Since Daniela and Dwayne were one of the last one’s through, most of the crowds had dispersed for the day and we were in and out in under an hour. Hurray! (A note to couples planning on a City Hall Wedding… it can pay off to wait! The lines now in the morning can be just as bad as lunch. They will give you a number as long as you are through security by 3:45pm sharp. I’d aim for 3:40pm latest just to be safe. At the end of the day, the wait can be much less, especially on a Friday!)
After hanging out with friends and family, their number was called and off they went to get married. Smiles all around and everything was made official! The City Hall wedding ceremony is quick, but it’s always fun. Afterwards we took a quick stroll down the block and then Dwayne’s friend gave us a lift over the bridge so we could take some wedding photos in Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was a gorgeous day and I just couldn’t enough of the smiles on these two. Aren’t they the cutest?
We finished photos in front of a new heart wall in Dumbo and then I sent them on their way to celebrate! Congratulations Daniela and Dwayne! Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your day. Happy travels to you both!
