This elopement was so full of joy from around the world. Steven is from the States, Yas is from Japan. They met in Japan on business and now live together in Switzerland. Their friends and family flew in from across the globe to be a part of the celebration at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park.

It was cloudy, but an unseasonably warm fall day, and the autumn colors were still on display in early November. As soon I saw the two smiling grooms walk down to the pavilion in their matching teal tuxedos, I knew this was going to be a great day! These gentlemen were so very dapper with their custom tuxes, fancy shoes and cufflinks. Steven and Yas specifically requested to go to lesser known parts of the park and wanted to avoid the popular Bethesda Terrace. As I’m always up for something new and love with clients want to go a bit off the beaten path, this sounded perfect to me. We took their photos after the ceremony wandering through the Ramble and then behind the Conservatory Waters, quieter areas of the park more full of winding paths and leafy trees then the hoards of tourists you find farther south. After their elopement and a photo session, I bid them farewell and they were off to dinner to celebrate.

Same Sex Wedding in Central Park | Gapstow Bridge | Jordan & Brendan

These two dapper gentlemen were my first pair of grooms to elope from Australia! I had a lovely time meeting them both. They were married on a beautiful fall afternoon just under the Gapstow Bridge, by Judie Guild. I love the Gapstow Bridge, and this little spot is one of my favorite in Central Park for a somewhat private ceremony. After the ceremony we wandered around the pond and up to Cat Rock for a few snaps before I sent them on their way to dinner.

Sunrise Elopement at Brooklyn Bridge Park | Stephen & Darren: Sneak Peek!

A quick sneak peek from this morning’s sunrise elopement in Brooklyn Bridge Park! Though the weather was a bit chilly, Stephen and Darren braved the cold and had a beautiful ceremony right on the water officiated by Judie Guild. After there ceremony, we wandered all through the park and up into Vinegar Hill for loads of excellent photos. Lots more to come!

It was a beautiful Saturday in the park for a wedding! Steven and Yas came from Switzerland to elope in Central Park at the Ladies Pavilion surrounded by their closest friends. I had a great time hanging out with them and they looked so very dapper in their matching tuxes!

Wedding at the Minnesota Zoo | Jenny & Claudia

Jenny and Claudia were married the day after the Supreme Court passed marriage equality nation wide. What a fantastic weekend to celebrate, and these girls had an fantastic party. Science nerdery plus zoo animals plus two amazing ladies? Sold. I started the day with them at their hotel getting ready and then we headed out for their first look at the zoo. We got to wander through some of the exhibits for photos, it’s not often I get to coordinate photos with a grizzly bear and a zoologist bride! So awesome. We had a great time with the animals and then they were off to exchange vows with their closest family and friends as witnesses.

After the ceremony, their reception was also held at the zoo and I loved the science theme! I started off as a pre-med in undergrad, and I never thought I’d see chemistry books again as a wedding photographer. This wedding proved me wrong and it was perfect. Periodic table of guests and test tubes filled with rainbow nerd candy for the win!

Congratulations Jenny and Claudia! Wishing you both so many years of happiness! Thanks a million for having me!

What’s that? You want to try hula hooping in your wedding dresses? Game on.

It’s pretty rare that I get this huge of a wedding part nowadays, but I had so much fun with these ladies! Aren’t they a beautiful bunch?

Claudia pulled me aside to ask if she could do a jumping photo… OF COURSE! I aim to please.

Stonewall Inn Elopement | NYC Elopement Photographer | Ira & MJ

This elopement you guys? It was so awesome. A week after marriage equality was passed by the Supreme Court, Ira and MJ were married at sunrise in front the historic Stonewall Inn in the West Village. Ira and MJ are from the Philippines where same sex marriage still isn’t recognized, but they wanted to make things official while MJ was visiting.

I met up with Ira and MJ at their apartment in the West Village and then we headed out to explore their favorite spots, including a stop in the West 4th subway station and Washington Square Park. The light was glorious… have I mentioned how much I LOVE sunrise elopements in New York City? Because they are awesome. As Ira & MJ exchanged vows, we had the neighborhood almost to ourselves. It was fantastic. After their joyful ceremony by the lovely Judie Guild, we wandered through the rest of the village and these two girls rocked it. I had so much fun shooting this session. One of my favorite things is to just wander neighborhoods with couples, and that’s exactly what we did. Ira and MJ have incredible style and the camera loved them both… almost as much as they clearly are crazy about each other.

I can’t thank you ladies enough for inviting me to be a part of your day! Congratulations to you both!
