About The Business:

My passion is capturing people being themselves, full of life and celebrating their love, no matter what that looks like. Big weddings, small weddings, in between weddings, though I do happen to specialize in elopement weddings. I started shooting professionally in 2007 and have since photographed hundreds of couples getting married.

I love that my clients are all shapes, sizes, races, orientations, cultures and backgrounds. Photographing and getting to feature all sorts of weddings with all kinds of people is one my favorites parts of this job. I fully support marriage equality and have always been sure to keep all of my client material gender neutral.

Additionally, I try to use my creative powers for good. Before I was a photographer, I worked in the non-profit world. My roots are in giving back and social justice and it’s important to me to keep that a part of my business. Each year I donate a portion of my profits to various social justice causes and local initiatives. You can read more about causes I’ve supported here. I am especially passionate about immigrant and refugee issues, education and literacy, women’s health, marriage equality, and sustainable agriculture.

Lastly, I live as green a life as possible and run my business with the same values. My primary lab is a fully certified Forestry Stewardship Council printer. My packaging is made from recycled, earth friendly materials whenever possible and I use all electronic contracts to limit paper waste.

About the Process:

Two of my primary goals while taking your photo are that we have fun and you feel comfortable. I want you to enjoy the process as much as possible. The more we both laugh, the better. I want to photograph you being YOU, and what makes you and your partner unique. During your portrait session I will give you enough direction so you don’t feel awkward, but not so much to make you feel fake and pose-y. I promise laughter and a bit of goofiness, climbing on random benches to get the best angle, and to get really excited about how amazing you look. (No seriously, you will look amazing. Trust me.) During the rest of your day, I will be as unobtrusive as possible, letting things unfold as they normally would.

You’ll receive a sneak peek of your images the very next day so you can share photos with friends and family. Your full gallery of images will be available within 4 weeks of your wedding day.
