This was the most beautiful summer evening! Zander and Michael are so kind and I could not have been more honored to document their day. The had an intimate wedding in Central Park’s Shakespeare Garden followed by dinner at Gramercy Tavern, a spot I can’t believe I have never dined at, and were surrounded the whole time by their nearest and dearest.
We started with a cute first look along Central Park West and then headed into the park. Zander and Michael chose a spot above Shakespeare Garden which I love! There are so many places to get married in Central Park (check out my guide to Central Park Weddings for ideas) and this spot is almost always quiet which is lovely. It’s tucked away on a balcony overlooking beautiful greenery and has enough space for a small group. It’s definitely under utilized for wedding ceremonies in Central Park, if you’re looking for a nice quiet space this is a great spot.
Their ceremony was right before sunset and the light was beautiful streaming in through the trees above the chuppah. Michael and Zander were married by a close friend and their ceremony was perfect and so touching. The grooms wrote their own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
And with that… Mazel Tov!
We did lots of family photos and then I stole the grooms for a bit to go take some couple photos around Shakespeare Garden and Turtle Pond. These little pathways are perfect for a snuggle and the garden was in full bloom. It was gorgeous! And Michael and Zander? Yep, they’re the cutest. I love how easily they make each other smile.
Shakespeare Garden is magical for photos all the time, but at sunrise or sunset it’s extra beautiful!
This spot with that golden background light! Turtle Pond is just around the corner from Shakespeare Garden and is a great little spot for photos. Sunset in the park for the win!
And then we headed downtown for dinner at Gramercy Tavern. This place is a New York institution and is always fantastic. The grooms had a private back room and the florist on this evening was incredible. I couldn’t believe how magical the table looked! I stayed through the toasts and everyone got to express how much love they had for Michael and Zander.
Michael and Zander, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day! Congratulations to you both!
