Sunrise Elopement at Wagner Cove in Central Park NYC

Couple eloping at Wagner Cove in Central Park at sunrise

One of my favorite places for elopements in Central Park is Wagner Cove. This tiny little shelter is centrally for photos around the park, gives a little cover from the elements, and most importantly is very private if you don’t want any passersby wandering through your ceremony. It’s the perfect spot for a couple and the officiant, and wonderful place to get married in Central Park!

If you’re looking to have a wedding ceremony at Wagner Cove, it’s located right off the 72nd street transverse by the Cherry Hill fountain. It’s down a little hidden staircase and is right along the lake in the center of the park. While you don’t NEED a permit, you can get one via the Central Park website.

Rebecca and Chris took me up the idea of sunrise (my favorite time of day for weddings in Central Park) and had the perfect morning wedding. Huge thanks to Hope from A More Perfect Union for officiating! The light was beautiful, everything was quiet, and the temperatures were delightful. Especially if you’re thinking of getting married in Central Park in the summertime, early morning is a great way to beat the heat!

Their elopement ceremony was so heartfelt, I loved their vows and there was lots of laughter shared between them!

Married! And that sunrise golden light was incredible!

After their elopement ceremony at Wagner Cove, we wandered through Central Park for wedding photos! There are lots of great spots nearby. The iconic Bow Bridge, Bethesda Terrace and Bethesda Fountain, and a leisurely stroll down the Mall was in order.

How cute are they? Rebecca and Chris were so much fun to take photos of!

The early summer blooms were so pretty!

I can’t resists a twirl on Bow Bridge when it’s empty in the morning!

We finished the morning at Cat Rock for a view of the skyline. What a glorious day to elope in NYC!
