When you look up most romantic restaurants in New York City, One if By Land, Two if By Sea will almost certainly come up on all the lists. This restaurant in the West Village is somewhat of an NYC institution and has been here for the romance for many years. It’s no wonder that it’s also a popular wedding venue in New York.
If you’re looking for a small to medium sized restaurant wedding venue in NYC, One if by Land, Two if By Sea is a great spot. The food is excellent, the vibe is dark wood, old world romance, and it’s also in an awesome neighborhood for photos. Who doesn’t love the streets of the West Village for beautiful New York City wedding photos?
When Eduardo and Maritza contacted me for their wedding at One if By Land, Two if By Sea I was so excited! I had heard about this venue, but hadn’t had the chance to shoot their before, so I was excited to get the chance! We started off the day at their apartment on the Upper West Side. Maritza got ready with her mom and and their apartment was a great spot for a few photos before the bride and groom had their first look on the sidewalk.

They were picked up by Film Cars, one of my all time favorite ways to get around NYC! Seriously, if you want to ride in style with the kindest chauffeurs, book a classic checker cab! They’re so much fun and make for amazing photos as well!
After arriving at the restaurant, we took family photos and also snapped some portraits in their secluded back garden. The happy couple exchanged their vows in front of family and friends in the restaurant’s main dining room before dancing the night away!
This was such a fun wedding and a lively dance party! Huge congrats to the newlyweds!
