There are so many different spots in New York City to have your elopement. You can elope in Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, City Hall, or even at Top of the Rock. I’ve written a bunch about my favorite places to elope in New York. However, one venue that will always be my favorite? A Brooklyn backyard wedding! It’s true, if you’re having a big celebration, a backyard wedding is often MUCH more planning then people imagine. However, for an elopement? A simple backyard wedding can be perfect. I know Brooklyn backyard space isn’t always super common, but if you happen to have a friend with access to yard space? It’s the perfect spot for a tiny elopement in NYC!
What about time of year you say? No need to fear! Ben and Seth had their backyard wedding on January 2nd! It can be done! I’ve seen backyard weddings at all times of year, so long as your guests know to dress for the weather, you can make it happen.
A backyard Brooklyn wedding, or even a Brooklyn front stoop wedding, can be the perfect spot to exchange vows, have your close friends present and then be ready to celebrate in whatever way feels best to you! There are no rules, no fees, just you hanging out with your nearest and dearest to commit to your favorite person! Have your wedding your way! A backyard wedding is always wonderful!

Need some musical accompaniment? This wedding had folks pick an instrument of their choice to play for the recessional. 🙂

Their flower boy and ring bearer stole the show!

Officially official! What a great backyard wedding ceremony!

After the backyard wedding ceremony, the grooms joined everyone in the living room for a celebratory toast!

Then we headed out for a few fun portraits on the neighboring streets. I love a Brooklyn brownstone block and this area of Prospect Heights was great for photos.

But really, these two handsome grooms were perfection for the camera.

Love a wedding party parade down the block!

Cheers and congrats to the newlyweds!
