When couples ask me for location suggestions of where they can get married in a park in NYC, Central Park is usually what they’re expecting. Central Park is of course a gorgeous spot for weddings and thousands of people get married there every year. However, if you’re looking some place a bit more off the beaten path. Somewhere you won’t be dealing with busloads of tourists, that’s just a quiet green space with sweeping views of the Hudson River? Look no further then an elopement at Fort Tryon Park.

An elopement at Fort Tryon Park is always one of my favorite things and Garrett and Alexandra had such a beautiful afternoon. They had their Fort Tryon Park wedding ceremony on the overlook with a view of the George Washington Bridge and the Hudson River. They were married by a close friend in a heartfelt ceremony as their families cheered them on. This elopement was in the spring time, so we were surrounded by stunning lilac blooms that made everything smell divine!

I have to give a shoutout here to not only Alex’s stunning dress by Garrett’s green suit! I love when folks opt for something other then traditional black and doesn’t this green look so handsome? Also the Nike shoes were the perfect personalized touch! Comfy shoes for the win!

Garrett and Alexandra were the absolute cutest and kindest couple. It was such a pleasure taking photos of these two. I mean aren’t they the sweetest pair?

One of the coolest features of an elopement or wedding at Fort Tryon Park is getting to take photos under the archways. These arches are such a cool space, and bonus! we’ve got a covered back-up if the weather takes a turn for rain on your day.

I mentioned the lilac blooms before, but seriously, they were everywhere in Fort Tryon and smelled SO GOOD!

Lastly we took a stroll on these garden paths which are great feature of the park and make for beautiful wedding photos in Fort Tryon at any time of year.

Huge congrats to Garrett and Alexandra and thanks so much for having me a part of your day!
