What a lovely backyard micro wedding! I know I photograph tiny weddings and elopements all the time, but all these backyard weddings are becoming such a favorite of mine. It’s truly your space with your nearest and dearest. They are always SO full of love and show exactly what you need in a wedding. Happiness.
Shaina and Ian had booked me for their big Minneapolis wedding many moons ago. I was excited to head home to work with them, shoot some engagement photos around the lakes and even hit a cute little bookstore in Uptown. However, then 2020 came and as we all know plans are made to broken and flexibility is the name of the game. Enter backyard micro wedding! Their big affair will hopefully be rescheduled for next year, but Shaina and Ian knew they still wanted to be officially married sooner so the micro wedding came to be. From a first look and signing their ketubah in their front yard, to wandering around back for their Jewish ceremony the afternoon was a joy to photograph. And every safety precaution was followed with masks, which as a vendor I SUPER appreciate.
After breaking the glass, we headed around to their front porch for a few celebratory portraits. Congratulations Shaina and Ian! I’m so excited to celebrate with you again next year!
