This was such a great morning! Rachel and Katie decided on a sunrise Brooklyn Heights elopement and it was perfect. I love shooting at sunrise, and whenever a couple volunteers that they’re willing to get up early, I’m all in! The light was dreamy and these two were so happy to be together it was awesome.
Rachel and Katie opted to get married in Cadman Plaza, an area I’ve walked through a bunch but have never actually photographed in before. They had their ceremony performed by their roommate and it was touching and heartfelt. After they tied the knot, we wandered through the plaza, and then over into neighboring Brooklyn Heights. Brooklyn Heights, for those unfamiliar, is the neighborhood directly above Brooklyn Bridge Park. If you’re looking for an area filled with classic brownstones and tree lined streets, Brooklyn Heights is your jam. It also is home to the Brooklyn Heights promenade which offers a great view of the downtown Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a great spot for a stroll and works out wonderfully for photos as well. After photos we stopped at Swallow Cafe, which has seats right along the front window and made for a great spot to to catch a few candid coffee shots as well.
Huge congrats to Rachel and Katie! Thanks for inviting me to join you in your morning elopement!
