This was such a lovely small wedding in Brooklyn and Shabnam and Scott were the kindest people to work with. I met up with them in their Carroll Gardens apartment in Brooklyn for some getting ready photos to start the morning. Cari Duprey was on hand to do her magic and I also got to hang out with their adorable fur babies, who excited to be part of the fun. Before we headed down to the ceremony, Shabnam and Scott wanted to make sure to spend some quality time with their pups, so we took a walk around the block to get some puppy photos, the dogs were dressed for the occasion as well!
After getting the dogs back upstairs, we hopped in a car and headed down to the waterfront. It was the perfect late summer day for a small wedding in Brooklyn Bridge Park! I’ve done ceremonies all over the park, but I’ve never actually done a ceremony in the Max Family Garden, a beautiful green space adjacent to the St Anne’s Warehouse theater. It worked out perfectly for their intimate wedding. They were married by Scott’s stepmother and included traditions from both of their cultures including Shabnam’s Iranian heritage.
Once they exchanged rings, they exited through a parade of bubbles and cheers and we were off to take photos around Brooklyn Bridge Park, abroad Jane’s Carousel and through the adjoining neighborhood of Dumbo, Brooklyn. These two were a dream to photograph and I had so much fun laughing with them both.
