What a beautiful day this was! Kay and Ashleigh came from the UK for an intimate elopement in Central Park in early October. One would think this would have meant they might have a chilly fall day. That wasn’t the case, it was almost summer feeling outside when these two ladies tied the knot!
These two brides had originally planned on exchanging vows in Wagner Cove in Central Park. However, due to some scheduling snafus, that location ended up being in use and we moved things just around the corner to this lovely little spot on the lake. I’ve taken loads of portraits here, but this is the first time I’ve photographed a ceremony at this particular spot. It was just magical. They had privacy and a beautiful over the lake. I love finding unique ceremony spots in Central Park, and this little nook is perfect if it’s just a couple with an officiant.
Sacha Jones, as always, gave a personal and heartfelt ceremony. There were happy tears and lots of laughter. After making things official and signing the paperwork, we headed out on a photo adventure. I led them through Central Park and then we headed out to meet their ride, Peter with Film Cars was taking us around in his vintage checker cab. The checker cab is always one of my favorite ways to get around with a wedding couple!
From the Upper East Side we headed out to Brooklyn for some skyline views, cobbled streets and even a bit of rainbow street art for good measure. Kay and Ashleigh were a joy to photograph, and we had lots of fun, even when a spontaneous rain storm took over for a few minutes!
Congratulations ladies! I wish you all the very best!
