This session was SO much fun! One of my favorite things about engagement photos is when couples decide to shoot in an area that’s special to them. I love wandering your neighborhood and finding new places. Jess and Adam live in Astoria and said they wanted to do their photos in two nearby spots in the neighborhood, the Welling Court Mural Project and the Socrates Sculpture Park. In all my years shooting in the city I’ve never heard of this particular mural project and while I’d heard of the sculpture park, I’d never been there….cue a local city adventure and an excited photographer.
Bright colors are always make my heart happy and the Welling Court Mural Project was awesome! So many fun backdrops! If you’re looking for a fun place to take street art photos, look no further. Jess and Adam were up for all of my crazy ideas and were a total blast to photograph. If it’s not clear by now, I’m kind of a laughter junkie. When I’m taking pictures nothing makes me happier then seeing a couple have a good time and laugh together and Jess and Adam had this in spades and the cutest.
After their two requested spots I also made sure we finished up right on the nearby ferry dock at sunset. We managed to get in some classic skyline as the sun fell behind the buildings, and it was perfection.
Congratulations on the engagement Jess and Adam! I’m super excited for your wedding in just a few weeks!
