I had such a wonderful afternoon with Michaela and Craig yesterday! These came from England to get married in New York and were supposed to tie the knot on Wednesday. However, I got a frantic email from Michaela on Monday asking if we could switch the date as another crazy snowstorm was scheduled to hit NYC on their wedding date. While this isn’t usually the case, I had the following day free and it worked out! We traded blizzard for sunny skies and everything went off without a hitch!
We started the day at the beautiful Gramercy Park Hotel. I’ve never been to this hotel before, but it was great for getting ready, and someday I’ll have to come back as I’ve been told they have one of the ever elusive keys to Gramercy Park. After Michaela got her hair and make-up done by the talented Amanda Thesen we took some portraits in hotel lobby and bar and then hopped in a cab down to City Hall.
I think due to the previous days blizzard folks got scared off, as it was one of the fastest times through the City Clerk’s Office I’ve ever had. Hurrah! More time for photos! We headed over the river to explore Brooklyn Bridge Park and Dumbo. There was still some snow on the ground, but the sun was shining and the air was warm. We rode the carousel, stopped for ice cream, and had an all around lovely time.
Congratulations Michaela and Craig! I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip in New York!
