I had such a great time at this wedding at the LIC Landing in Queens! Mara and Troy are both awesome individuals who make an incredible couple. I started the day with Mara and her bridesmaids at the Z Hotel in Long Island City. If you’re looking for a room with a view, this place is it. I love this spot for getting ready photos. From there we headed to the ceremony spot and more sweeping views of the city.
Mara and Troy had originally thought about Gantry Plaza, but after a wander down the park they discovered the LIC Landing location and knew this was it. This spot is great as it offers chairs and some sort of cover, which was key on their day as the weather was a bit on the rainy side. It also offers an amazing view of the skyline, which was slightly obscured by the clouds on this particular day but still stunning nonetheless.
After the ceremony I wandered with Mara and Troy along the park to their reception snapping photos all along the way. These guys are total hams for the camera, Troy in particular, and had me laughing the whole way. As we walked along I may have randomly asked if they had any dance moves to which Troy busted out the BREAK DANCE moves! Grooms going for the handstand? Awesome. Every. Single. Time. These two also had some killer moves during their first dance where after a sweet slow dance they busted into some of Christina’s Ain’t No Other Man to loads of applause.
