Danielle and Andrew are New Yorkers who planned a destination wedding in Italy. However, before they went abroad, they opted to get the legal bit taken care of with a little city hall wedding in Brooklyn. Being a part of their pre wedding day was so much fun. They were so laid back and we had the best morning wandering around Brooklyn Heights, the Brooklyn Promenade and then heading down to a bit of Brooklyn Bridge Park for photos.
The bonus of having a wedding at Brooklyn City Hall is the proximity to great Brooklyn neighborhoods for photos. While the office is slightly less photogenic then the Manhattan clerk’s office, the gorgeous areas surrounding the Brooklyn clerk’s office more then make up for it. Also, it’s usually a speedy process inside, and they’re aren’t loads of people like you might find in Manhattan.

After a short wait, they were called into the ceremony room. Unlike in Manhattan, there’s only one chapel space for weddings.

After exchanging vows, we headed out for a wander through Brooklyn Heights. I love this neighborhood as a backdrop for portraits. Brownstones, stoops, pretty little streets, and it’s usually fairly quiet.

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a great spot to get a view of the skyline that’s a bit different then the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
