Ansley and Beth had booked me for an elopement earlier last fall. They were planning to come up from North Carolina for a weekend and make things official in Central Park. However, in a wonderful turn of events, North Carolina legalized same sex marriage the day before they were set to leave, so these two ladies were able to be legally wed with their children and family present in their home state! Hurray for spontaneous weddings!
They still had a trip planned though, now things were just a pre-made honeymoon instead! So we turned their session into an anniversary/just married photo shoot and had a ball touring the city, snapping photos, and celebrating the newlyweds! We toured Central Park, Washington Mews, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for an awesome photo adventure.
Charlene and Lee came over from London to be married right around their tenth anniversary on a beautiful day at the Brooklyn waterfront. After their ceremony by Judie, we had a wonderful time wandering through DUMBO, one of my favorite areas to shoot. Lee’s bright blue suit was so much fun, and we had a blast playing with all the colorful backgrounds the neighborhood has to offer… (including a request for serious photos with the British soldier poster, because of course!).
Congratulations and best wishes to you both!
I had such a fun morning with Leah and Allan last fall for their elopement. Perhaps one of my favorite “how they met” stories, these two first came to know each other jumping out of planes! Yep, Leah is an avid skydiver and one of Allan’s friends convinced him to give it a try and the rest is history. My clients are awesome. Now I just need to find a skydiving wedding to complete the package.
I met up with them for a first look at Bethesda Terrace at dawn. (As a sidenote: sunrise is my most favorite time of day for portraits. The city is quiet, you can get popular places like Central Park to yourself and the light is lovely.) After a wander through the park, we hopped in a cab to for some portraits at Grand Central and then took the subway down to City Hall. We made it through City Hall in record time and Allan’s family was able to facetime in for the ceremony from Australia!
Congratulations to you both, may you have many years of fun adventures together! Cheers!
I had a wonderful time this afternoon with Chloe and Jack! Aren’t they a gorgeous couple? These two hopped across the pond for a quick few days of shopping, sight seeing, and to elope in Central Park at the Ladies Pavilion! After the ceremony we braved the cold snapping a few photos in the park and then headed across the bridge to Queens for some lovely skyline shots at Gantry Park.
Congratulations guys! More photos to on the way soon!
Another lovely group of ladies from Alabama! Terri and Beth are friends with Jami and Nivada, who I worked with the previous spring. They flew up with a group of their closest girlfriends to be married in the Cop Cot shelter in Central Park. It was a beautiful evening, and a wonderful time was had by all. These girls were so much fun!
Congratulations Terri & Beth! I wish you both loads of happiness for many years to come!
