It may have been a little grey and drizzly outside yesterday, but these two made their own sunshine. I work with a lot of happy couples, but these guys may have been near the top in their pure joy and excitement about getting married. I think all of our cheeks hurt from smiling so much.
We met up for photos at Madison Square Park near their hotel to get some iconic images with the Flat Iron Building. It was sprinkling for a bit, but nothing snuggling under an umbrella for a moment can’t fix. Afterwards, we rode the subway to Grand Central for their ceremony with the Reverend Annie Lawrence. Rev. Annie gave a beautiful ceremony, not a dry eye in the house. The thing about Grand Central is, it’s a great ceremony spot, but it’s also a very busy spot. So, as expected a bit of a crowd gathered to watch the nuptials. Everyone was respectful though, and best of all, once Ashley and Walter were pronounced, a HUGE cheer went up! Someone brought them chocolate and lots of hugs were exchanged. Moments like these I really do love New York. This wedding was top secret, but they still had the city cheering them on!
