Andy and Bella were such a lovely couple to work with! They eloped to NYC from the UK, and then were headed south to cheer on the horses at the Kentucky Derby. I met up with them on a Monday morning at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau and we got through fairly quickly. After their ceremony, we hopped in a car to the West Village. I love shooting in this neighborhood, there are so many beautiful streets and fun storefronts. We started off at Washington Mews, one of my favorite lanes to photograph. It’s right by Washington Square Park and is perfect for portraits with wonderful doorways, ivy and cobblestones. After that we headed off into the heart of the West Village, and to our amazement looked up and saw a hawk! Just hanging out on the fire escape along Waverly Place…not something you see everyday, that’s for sure.
At the end of their session we happened to wander past The Doughnut Project. One look from Andy confirmed my thoughts. Ending your wedding photos with doughnuts? Always a good idea. 🙂
Congratulations Andy & Bella! I wish you both the very best!
