These are the weddings I love so much. The weddings where the brides can’t stop giggling because they’re so excited to be married. Where they literally jump up and down after the ceremony because the happiness can’t be contained. I was with Emily and Claire for a little over an hour for their New York elopement and I also couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. These girls were the picture of pure joy.
Emily and Claire came over from London and decided to pull together a wedding rather last minute (though they’ve been together for years.) They contacted me the week before and we set everything up for their City Hall elopement. They purchased their boutonnieres from the flower guy out front (pro-tip: this guy does much prettier flowers and is much more affordable then those you would buy inside City Hall) and we stepped into City Hall to wait for their ceremony. The marriage bureau was an absolute mad house on their day, but we still managed to get through in just about an hour.
After they made things official, we wandered just a bit right around the plazas in front of City Hall for a few portraits, even managing catch a few of the first cherry blossoms of spring! Then I sent them on their way for a celebratory champagne toast!
Congratulations Emily and Claire! Thanks so much for inviting me to be a part of your day! Best wishes to you both!
