Sapphire Beach Engagement Photos at Sunrise
So I know it’s Travel Tuesday, and if you follow me on instagram you know I’ve just gotten back from a trip to Australia and those photos are on the way soon. However, I figured this week we’d do travel photos with my most recent Caribbean destination elopement in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands!
When I first heard from Michelle and Ricky, it was about a small wedding in New York. A few weeks later I heard back that the plan had changed…. they were eloping to the Caribbean! How would I feel about tagging along for their wedding on the beach?? Are you kidding me? Of course!! And that’s how it was set for me to photograph the most amazing destination elopement in St Thomas.
I flew in a couple days before to be sure I could get a lay of the land and yes, it is as beautiful as you’ve heard. White sand beaches, turquoise waters, the whole Caribbean paradise postcard does indeed exist. My normal Caribbean destination elopement package involves 4 hours of coverage, but Michelle and Ricky opted to split things up and we did an engagement shoot at sunrise on the first day followed by their actual elopement at sunset the next evening. This was perfect as we got to shoot at two different locations. I met up with them for their engagement shoot at sunrise at Sapphire Beach where we were both staying. We started at Prettyklip Point, a beautiful rock point jutting out into the sea. From there we wandered in the sand a bit, took a stroll through the marina, and then headed out to Lindquist Beach to finish up enjoying the incredible scenery the whole way through.
Stay tuned for their wedding photos tomorrow!
