As promised with yesterday’s St Thomas Engagement Photos, here is the Caribbean Elopement to go along with them! Michelle and Ricky were originally planning to have a small wedding in NYC, however after giving it some thought they decided to scrap those plans and head south to the Caribbean and ended up in St Thomas.
When they asked me to tag along for some photo taking, I couldn’t have been more excited! As a self diagnosed travel addict, I love heading to new locales and am always up for an adventure. Getting to photograph a gorgeous couple in new amazing locations? Pretty much my dream come true! (Hint Hint. If you’re looking to head out on an destination elopement adventure, please let me know! )
We started the afternoon with them getting ready at their rented condo at Sapphire Beach. This was a great space and I loved the colorful walls as a backdrop! Sidenote: I have so few couples who get ready together, and I kind of love it when people do. I know first looks are great, but it can be fun to have your partner help you button up your dress or figure out how to tie a bow tie!
After they were all spiffed up, we hopped in the car to Limetree Beach. This worked out so well as we had the sunrise view on the east side of the island for their engagement photos and then a wonderful sunset for the ceremony on the west side at Limetree! We found a great spot down amongst the rocks and the surf for their vows thanks to their awesome St Thomas Wedding Officiant, Michael. After they tied the knot we had a few more minutes of light and strolled the beach for some closing photos. Oh! And a first dance! Because these guys were willing to show off their moves much better then I was able to sing for them. 😉
Michelle and Ricky you guys are seriously the best! I can’t thank you enough for the adventure and for being awesome. Congratulations and best wishes!
