I shoot in Central Park so often sometimes it’s nice to switch things up to one of my other favorite green spaces and head out to Brooklyn. Lindsay and Nick had a small private wedding in their favorite section of Prospect Park, the Vale of Cashmere. I’ve been to Prospect Park loads of times, but I have never been to this particular spot. It was a little hidden gem and worked perfectly for a wedding.
Lindsay and Nick warned me beforehand that there was no rain back-up plan. If the rain came, they were just going to roll with it. I said I was game and the day of, I thought maybe we would just luck out. However, just after they started their vows, it down poured. Luckily, they were under a bit of a tree and everyone had umbrellas, but it did certainly make things a little exciting. They made the best of it and were all smiles just the same. It’s these kind of clients, who are just happy to be married and who aren’t going to let a few raindrops get in the way who I love. I feel like this kind of laid backness has to serve one well in life. After their ceremony, performed by a Buddhist Monk friend of the groom, I grabbed them for a quick photo session and then they were off to enjoy wine and cheese with their friends and family.
