If I had to pick one venue to shoot in for the rest of my days it would be this place. The Metropolitan Building in Queens is a wedding photographer’s dream, full of windows and exposed brick, vintage furniture, mirrors and all sorts of randomness. However, while I love this venue, what made this wedding extra awesome was Ellie and Matt. This was such a great celebration to kick of the year!
You might remember these two from their engagement session on Governor’s Island this past summer. I had such a great time getting to know them both and they were surrounded by so much love on their wedding day. They were up for all of my goofy ideas and made my job easy by being ridiculously adorable. There were also lots of great details from a hundred year old type writer acting as a guest book, to their chuppah; made by Ellie’s dad from wood from her crib as a baby and hockey sticks. After a heartfelt ceremony after the sunset, these guys brought down the house with an amazing dance party. Grooms singing along to Backstreet Boys, the macarena?!, a super fun hora, and loads of other shenanigans always make for an awesome night. A huge shout-out of thanks also goes out to my photografriend Laura for being a rockstar second shooter! 🙂
Ellie and Matt, thanks SO much for having us! You guys are awesome and I wish you many amazing adventures together. Congratulations and best wishes!
