When people ask me what I look for in dream clients, what makes me love to work with a couple, my answer is happiness. In all honesty, it makes no difference to me if you get married in a designer gown or blue jeans, a fancy schmancy venue or your backyard; as long as you’re happy. What I really, really love are couples who are just so excited to get married the happiness bubbles out and over and consumes us all with love. You guys? Andy and Elena were absolutely that couple.
These two came over from Scotland for their elopement in New York and were just so excited to be married it was about the cutest thing ever. I met up with Elena at the Waldorf Astoria as she finished up getting ready and then they had their first look in their room. (Side note before we continue: how beautiful is this blue dress?? We made sure to get lots of twirling in because it was so much fun. 🙂 ) Then we grabbed a cab up to Central Park for a wander through the stunning fall colors. As we were taking photos on the Bethesda Terrace a bag pipe troupe came down the stairs! Because of course. Only in New York. So clearly we had to take photos! After the rounds in Central Park, we headed down to Brooklyn Bridge Park for their ceremony with Judie overlooking lower Manhattan. They rode the carousel and we oogled the skyline, and though it was windy made an attempt to capture the just married banner, which led to lots of laughter.
Andy and Elena, I can’t thank you guys enough for being so sweet and awesome and for all the laughter. I’m so glad I got to be a part of your day! Hopefully I get to meet up with you again someday soon on your side of the Atlantic. Best wishes and congratulations to you both!
