Travel Tuesday 8.25.14: Ta Prohm, Cambodia
Traveled: June 2008, with Alex
I was in a temple mood today and decided to show a few photos from one of my favorites, Ta Prohm. This is one of the many temples in the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia. Alex and I visited these ruins as part of our honeymoon adventure back in 2008. We rented bikes from our guesthouse and spent each day cycling from temple to temple. While we each sweated approximately 8 times our bodyweight during the week (cycling in southeast asia heat is no easy feat) I highly recommend seeing the ruins under your own power. It was awesome to be able to take as much time as we liked, explore, and visit some hidden spots. Aside from Angkor itself, Ta Prohm is probably one of the best known temples, and the power of the jungle overtaking these structures was pretty fantastic.
