As I mentioned in their sneak peek, Chris and Mike are friends with my little brother back in Minnesota. I always love getting a chance to head back to the midwest so I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their wedding this May! Chris and Mike were married in the Japanese Gardens at Normandale Community College. I had actually attended a wedding there the year previous for my brother in law, but that time it was about a million degrees.
This time around, in true Minnesota fashion it was SNOWING. And SLEETING. For their outdoor wedding. IN MAY. Oh midwest, whatever are we to do with you? Despite the ridiculous weather, Chris and Mike took things in stride and rolled with the punches Mother Nature threw at them.

We did take a few photos outside but then headed indoors and I’m super pleased with how things worked out! Stairwells and campus lobbies, bring it on!

After portraits, we headed out for the wedding, rain or shine! Their guests were in happy spirits despite the weather! 🙂
They were married on a red bridge in the middle of the garden with their guests just across the pond.

These two share a love of video games which they showed off at the reception. I love these Zelda programs!
For the non-gamers out there, I have been told these are Final Fantasy characters.
For their first dance, they did a Just Dance games routine to Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Amazing! 🙂
