Laryssa & Sharyn | Hudson Valley Wedding Photography | 1773 Calendar House

When I first met with Laryssa and Sharyn a few months ago I was completely smitten. Not only did we meet at the most adorable tea shop ever for brunch (seriously, it’s so cute!) but I had a great time chatting with both these ladies. I called my husband right afterwards to say how awesome they were and how I would be so excited if I got to shoot their wedding!

I got my wish and this wedding was amazing in every way. When I was finishing up at the reception, I went to congratulate Laryssa and told her this was seriously one of the most gorgeous weddings I’ve seen in my whole life ever. I may have a tendency to exaggerate when I’m excited, but truly this wedding was so very beautiful inside and out! The setting was perfect, the details were lovely, and most importantly had two wonderful brides who could not be more clearly in love.

Laryssa and Sharyn were married in the little tiny town of Elizaville, NY on the grounds of the 1773 Calendar House, a historic farmhouse surrounded by acres of orchards and farmland. They had a peacock theme for the day, starting off with these amazing shoes!

Gorgeous brooches for Sharyn’s dress.

They didn’t want to do a super formal first look, but still thought it’d be fun to wait until they were all ready to see each other for the first time.  The look on Sharyn’s face the first time she saw Laryssa is  priceless! 🙂

I love it!

From there we headed out to the grounds to get a few more portraits. I seriously wanted to take photos of these ladies all day. SO BEAUTIFUL!

Their ceremony was so full of joy and bursting with love. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t wiping away teary eyes behind my lens.

I’m pretty sure this is my favorite ceremony shot ever!

Their reception was in a tent on the grounds and had so many lovely details.

They had all their guests sign the ketubah by adding a finger print to the peacock! How cool is that??

Before entering the reception, there was a ceremony to honor Laryssa’s Ukrainian heritage. Each bride lit a candle with their family, and then shared bread and wine. They were then welcomed into the tent by everyone singing!

Laryssa and Sharyn, thank you SO SO much for having me photograph your wedding! I had an amazing time and it was an honor to be part of your celebration.  You are both so very awesome and I wish you many years of happiness!
