Alex and Eitan | NYC Wedding Photography | Long Island

Otherwise known as Alex and Eitan, One of The Most Awesome Weddings Ever. Seriously, I have never seen so much joy and energy wrapped up into one day ever. I first met these guys for their engagement session earlier in the spring, and knew right away the wedding was going to be great fun. Space invaders? Hula Hoops? Juggling? Amazing dancing? Check and check. I love my Offbeat Bride couples!

One of the things I most love about doing wedding photography is learning about so many different cultural traditions. I have photographed Jewish weddings, but Alex and Eitan brought in so many components that I hadn’t seen before. I loved it!

These beautiful roses? They were made out of coffee filters and hand painted by Alex’s grandmother! Aren’t they amazing??

Alex had her hands done with henna as part of her bachelorette festivities. Gorgeous.

Oh, and did I mention there was a space invader theme? Check and mark.

So, in addition to having a very fun wedding, these two also managed to get married on the rainiest day of the year. It POURED the WHOLE day. I kept sneaking a peek outside to see if the rain had let up so I could get them outside for at least a few portraits, but mother nature was having none of it. Thus due to this and the limitations of their venue, I basically had the challenge of doing all their photos in what was pretty much a dimly lit country club ballroom. Not my ideal setting, but these two made it work and we got some great images!

So cute!

Before the ceremony, Alex and Eitan each hosted a Tish, which involved lots of singing and laughter.

I loved that their ceremony included so many friends and family. In addition to holding their chuppah and reading the ketubah,  friends also provided seven wishes and seven blessings for the couple.

However, my most favorite part of this wedding was the reception! These guys brought more joyous energy then I have EVER seen!

I will always love a good hora. 🙂

The best part though? These guys had a schtick. I had never heard of this before, but am now convinced this needs to be part of every wedding! (At least those with creative, talented guests!)

Basically, after the hora, the bride and groom are sat down and the guests entertain them. I thought it would be a joke or a dance or something. Oh no. This was a full on production of awesome-sauce. Juggling, tiaras, horse riding, high kicking, sword-fighting amazing!

And after all this, what else was missing? A limbo under the “NY Bar” (Alex just finished law school) of course!

Alex and Eitan, thank you SO much for having me at your wedding! I had so much fun! Weddings like yours are why I love taking photos! Best wishes!
